Thomas Wins Award & Top Vocational Student

Allie Thomas, a Clay senior, recently traveled to Anaheim, California, to compete in the 2015 Business Professional of American National Leadership Conference.  Allie was awarded Second Place in Medical Office Procedures (out of 72 contestants).

Students Create Science Websites

The following are the "best" freshmen-created websites covering the universe from the Big Bang, to star and planet formation, to a tour of our solar system.  These sites were created in Dr. Hunter's integrated science course.  

The "best" is based on peer reviews and overall scores.  Each site includes an interactive quiz to check the viewer's knowledge.

Are you a tech savvy girl in grades 6-9? 
 
You will be after a day of hands-on fun with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics at Ohio University.   
 
Tech Savvy helps you learn what it takes to become a scientist, doctor, engineer, accountant, or other STEM expert.  A separate session for adults shows them how to help you on your path to college and a career.

Eight Clay Local School District students received ESC scholarships for summer educational enrichment programs on May 6, 2015, at the SOMC Friends' Center.  
 
 
The scholarship recipients:  Ethan Sanford, 7th grade, will be attending Wright State University. Emily Clausing, 6th grade, will be attending Wright State University. Claire Sanford, 7th grade, received the AAUW Award and will be attending Denison University for a Math and Science CampEmily Shumaker, 11th grade, will be attending Harding University. Katherine Marsh, 11th grade, will be attending Alfred University. Ava McCleese, 10th grade, will be attending George Washington University. Bradley McCleese, 8th grade, will be attending Wright State University. Aashish Vemsani, 9th grade, will be attending Northwestern University (not pictured).

Bailey Recognized for Eagle Scout Award

Congratulations, Josh!

Josh Bailey, a senior at Clay High School, recently received his Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
