Three Clay Students Earn Silver Award

Three Clay students from Cadette Girl Scout Troop 1190 have recently earned their Silver Awards.  Pictured left to right are Madison Nigh, Jensen Warnock, and Jaelyn Warnock.

The Silver Award is the second highest award in Girl Scouts. Girls 11-14 complete a 50-hour service project that will make their community a better place.   These girls worked with Sierra's Haven for New and Used Pets. Not only did they volunteer at the shelter, they collected supplies and made toys and blankets for the animals. Another important component of their project was educating the community about pet overpopulation and the importance of spaying and neutering pets.  They realized the important work Sierra's Haven does for our community, and they encourage everyone to volunteer either financially or with their time.

These girls also earned their Bronze Awards as Junior Girl Scouts and will soon begin work as Seniors on their Gold Awards.
