Flannery is Winner

The 2012 Clay Middle School Spelling Bee was held Thursday, February 2, 2012, in the Clay High School library.  The following sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students represented their classes in the school bee:  

 Sixth graders: Hunter Armstrong, Bethany Flannery, Aashish Vemsani and Brandon Williams
Seventh graders: Drew Hadsell, Todd Morgan, Alaina Stowers, Lynlee Wells
Eighth graders: Savannah Brown, McKenzie Cartee, Levi Nelson and Mekayla Osborne

Clay’s 2012 Spelling Bee champion is Bethany Flannery, sixth grader, daughter of Eric and Tammy Flannery of Stout. Bethany will represent Clay Middle School in the Scioto County Spelling Bee at the SOMC Friends Center on Sunday, February 12, 2012, at 7:00 P.M. The runner-up, who will act as alternate for Clay, is Levi Nelson, eighth grader, son of Joseph and Garnet Nelson of Lucasville.
