Rose Receives Recognition

 

 

 

 

 

 

The National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) and the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has recognized Mark Rose as the recipient of the 2015 State Active Officials' Award for Volleyball.  

This award is given to officials who have made significant contributions to their respective sports. The NFHS and the OHSAA have recognized him as being a special contributor to interscholastic sports officiating for the sport of volleyball in Ohio.  

Mark has been officiating OHSAA volleyball for twenty years with numerous sectional, district, and regional assignments as well as five OHSAA Final Four assignments.  During these twenty years, he has also served as vice-president and president of the local officials' association.  Besides high school volleyball, he officiates USA volleyball (club) and collegiate volleyball as both a certified official and a line judge. 

Other winners this year include Frank Grubb (baseball), Mark Wanyerka (boys' basketball), Jason Blazevich (girls' basketball), Ken Beard (boys' cross country), Arthur Joseph (girls' cross country), Todd Shapiro (field hockey), Maxine Matovic (gymnastics), Joseph Hrabak (ice hockey), John Keener (football), Cheryl Opperman (softball), Douglas Billerman (boys' soccer), Charles Daria (girls' soccer), Jon Reidler (boys' swimming & diving), Robert VanAlmen (girls' swimming & diving), Robert Jones (boys' track & field), Pamela Spears (girls' track & field), and Russell Brooke (wrestling).

He will be recognized at the annual OHSAA Hall of Fame and Officials' reception and dinner in June.
